Flashcard Maker

Make a deck, flip through it.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our servers.

About the Flashcard Maker

Flashcards work because they make you recall an answer before you see it. That act of retrieval, often called active recall, strengthens memory more than rereading notes.

How to use it

  1. Open "Edit deck" and add a question and answer for each card.
  2. Switch to "Practice". Click the card or press Space to flip it.
  3. Use the arrow keys to move and Shuffle to mix the order.

Worked examples

A biology deck

Front: "What is the powerhouse of the cell?" Back: "The mitochondria". Keep each card to one fact.

How often should I review?

Review soon after learning, then a day later, then a few days later. Spacing reviews out helps long-term memory.

How many cards per deck?

20 to 40 is easier to finish in one sitting than hundreds.
